Long Islanders will be heading to the polls on Tuesday to vote in local primaries that will decide who will appear on the general election ballots come Nov. 5.

Among the more high-profile races is the Democratic primary for Nassau County executive, where former executive Thomas R. Suozzi is hoping to beat Adam M. Haber to set up a rematch against Edward Mangano.

Mangano, you'll remember, pulled out a surprise win in 2009 for the county’s top post.
