LIRR STRIKE AVERTED
A tentative deal has been reached to avert a strike. Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, the Metropolitan Transit Authority and union leaders held a press conference this afternoon to announce the deal. Suffolk County police seek the public’s help identifying two men who allegedly stole clothing from Macy's at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove last month.
The theft took place June 28 at about 5:15 p.m., according to a news release, which did not include the value of the clothing taken.
Anyone with information is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. Callers do not have to reveal their identity.
Thursday night: Mostly cloudy in the evening, then clear with a low of 63.
Friday: Clear in the morning, then mostly cloudy with a high of 81.
