Networking event for post-Sandy info in Lindenhurst

The Village of Lindenhurst is hosting a Post-Sandy Networking Expo Saturday.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lindenhurst Rainbow Senior Center, 293 Buffalo Ave. Various agencies and community groups will be on hand to talk about the resources they can provide to those who live in Sandy-affected areas. Residents will have the opportunity to speak one-on-one to representatives and discuss individual needs.

Among those who have confirmed attendance: United Way of Long Island, Community Development Corp. of Long Island, Hands Across Long Island, Long Island Cares, Long Island Housing Partnership Corp., Project Hope, Camp Bulldog, Adopt A House, Lindy Manpower, New York State Insurance Department, New York State Department of Financial Services, representatives from the Town of Babylon, and officials from the Lindenhurst Village building department.

Village officials said the event also is likely to have representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the federal Small Business Administration.
