New Hempstead Village laws on foreclosures, shopping carts

The Hempstead Village board of trustees unanimously approved two pieces of legislation, one requiring banks to notify the village when they begin a foreclosure process and another banning customers from removing shopping carts from store parking lots.
The board held two hearings on Tuesday night on the laws, which received no objections from residents.
