The New York Rising Community Reconstruction Program is holding an open house in Lindenhurst Village Tuesday night to discuss rebuilding after superstorm Sandy.

The reconstruction program was established to provide additional rebuilding and revitalization assistance to communities severely damaged by Sandy as well as tropical storms Irene and Lee. Tuesday's open house is one of many being held in communities impacted by Sandy and will serve to gain public input on recovery projects and activities being planned. Lindenhurst Village is eligible to receive up to $6.1 million in federal funding to carry out these endeavors.

The event is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Lindenhurst Community Center, 293 Buffalo Ave.
