Pet expo helps find new homes for cats, dogs
The 4th annual Dog Day Afternoon Agility Expo and Pet Fair, sponsored by the Suffolk County Bar Association's Animal Law Committee and the Suffolk Academy of Law, was held at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue to educate the public about pet care and animal laws. Organizers also hoped to raise awareness of animal shelters and rescue groups, and to help them place pets into permanent homes. Dog owners Jamie Scharfglass and Jasmine Saburro had no idea they shared a common bond until they met Saturday in Patchogue.
