A daylong event aimed at promoting pit bull awareness, adoption and welfare will be held Saturday.

The third annual Bully Breed Brigade, sponsored by the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter and Last Hope Animal Rescue Inc., will be held at the shelter, on 3320 Beltagh Ave. in Wantagh, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will also feature a Pit Parade of “Ambassadogs” from Long Island animal shelters and rescue groups at about 1 p.m., organizers said. In addition to free adoptions, other activities include training demonstrations, a dog talent show and the event’s first “Battle of the Bands,” featuring local talent.
