Five winning tickets came just short of the Powerball jackpot Wednesday night, upping tonight's potential take to at least $300 million.

Tickets in California, New York State, Connecticut, Florida and Pennsylvania came up as Match 5 winners for a $1 million take, but no one hit the final Powerball number.

Saturday's Powerball grand prize could wind up even higher, depending on sales.

According to the Powerball website, $17,397,327 million in secondary prizes were won Wednesday night.

The winning numbers in Wednesday night’s drawing were 8-24-39-49-59 and Powerball number 5.
