Here are a few upcoming meetings and events that will be covered by Newsday's Towns reporters.

LOOSE DOGS. The Shelter Island Town board meets today at 4:30 p.m. at Town Hall and will hold a public hearing on a proposal to impose a $25 fine on dogs picked up while running loose and held by animal control officials. Check Mitchell Freedman’s Twitter updates @eastwatch.
