Smithtown gets nearly $7G from trucking company in settlement

The Town of Smithtown has reached a settlement with a New Jersey trucking company whose driver allegedly struck town workers repairing a traffic signal two years ago.

Appol Trucking Llc, of Passaic, and an employee, Flavio M. Alarcon, agreed to pay the town $6,943.99 to settle a lawsuit brought against them by the town. The settlement was approved by the town board on Feb. 28.
