Fire damages Halesite, Ronkonkoma homes

Fire damaged two homes in Suffolk County early Monday morning -- one in Halesite, one in Ronkonkoma -- though no one was injured, Suffolk police and fire officials said. -- JOHN VALENTI

Village Board: The Port Jefferson Village board of trustees meets tonight at 7 in Village Hall (121 W. Broadway). Sensor Review: The Massapequa Park Village board of trustees meets tonight at 8 in Village Hall (151 Front St.). The board is to consider the future of an experimental project that used a pavement sensor system to detect parking scofflaws; officials have said the system did not result in as many violations as expected.
