Hempstead’s town board meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Nathan L.H. Bennett Pavilion, adjacent to Town Hall, and is expected to vote on two controversial petitions to rezone two properties near South Nassau Communities Hospital from residential to business. Appointment actions.
The Southampton Town board meets at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Town Hall, 116 Hampton Rd., and is scheduled to vote on the reappointments of Tamara Wright as town comptroller and Tiffany Scarlato as town attorney, both for two-year terms. Check Stacey Altherr’s Twitter updates @staceyaltherr.

Budget bump.
The Huntington Town board meets  at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Town Hall, 100 Main St., and is scheduled to vote on whether to amend the 2012 budget to include more funding for cultural arts and other items that had been cut or reduced in the adopted budget. Cops seek help in swastika case
