Suffolk Water Authority proposes 4.2 percent rate increase

The Suffolk Water Authority will hold a public hearing Monday at 4 p.m. at its Oakdale headquarters on a proposed 4.2 percent rate increase starting April 1.
Authority officials say the rate change would mean a nearly $13 increase for customers, raising the average annual bill to $345 a year, based on consumption of 160,000 gallons.
