Town Focus: Day 2 in Sea Cliff
Today, I will continue my five-day exploration of Sea Cliff. I’ll be walking the streets, peeking into businesses, speaking with locals and visitors, all the while getting a feel for the needs of the community and the village’s rich historical background.
This morning, I’m meeting with Sara Reres, director of the Sea Cliff Museum.
In the afternoon, I’m speaking with Ann DiPietro, Sea Cliff Civic Association president and director of the Children’s Library, formerly known as The Stenson Memorial Library, one of the 11 oldest public libraries in Nassau County.
Later on, I’ll be meeting with Jean Davis, another village historian.
The rest of the week, stay tuned for a children’s book reading at the beach, a look into the rich history of the village’s fire department, which has been in service since 1884, a pre-1987 car show and a sunset serenade, among other things.
Your suggestions gave me some great ideas on where to eat. On Monday I ate lunch at Sea Cliff Bagel Cafe on the Shore at Sea Cliff Beach. Any suggestions for the rest of the week?
At every step along the way, I welcome your input. Tell me what you think of the coverage, what you would like me to find out and where I should go. You can reach me via email, Twitter and the comments below.
