Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter to offer free spay and neuter surgeries for feral cats

The Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter will offer 30 free spay/neuter surgeries on Feb. 18 to help curb the population of feral cats in the municipality.

The animal shelter will perform the surgeries on feral cats trapped and transported to the shelter by residents. Additionally, rabies vaccinations, flea medication and left-ear tipping will be offered.
