Nassau County Legis. David Denenberg (D-Merrick) will present a hurricane recovery workshop today in North Bellmore and a coping with the effects of superstorm Sandy forum in Bellmore.

The workshop will be held tonight at 7 in the John G. Dinkelmeyer Elementary School, 2100 Waltoffer Ave. in North Bellmore.

Attendees will learn about post-Sandy relief efforts and information available about insurance, disaster relief, housing, support programs and social services, safety, generators, food and clothing. Representatives from federal, state and county agencies will be present, including FEMA, Nassau County Office of Emergency Management and the New York State Department of Labor.

Denenberg, along with the Community Parent Center, the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School, state Sen. Charles J. Fuschillo (R-Merrick) and the American Red Cross, will hold another forum next week to assist families in coping with the aftereffects of Sandy. The event will be Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. in Mepham High School, 2401 Camp Ave. in Bellmore.

The program will begin with a keynote speaker, followed by breakout sessions for parents of preschool and school-age children, adults and senior citizens. Registration is required.

For more information, contact Denenberg’s office at 516-571-6219.
