Public hearing on Brookhaven vodka distillery plan

Port Jefferson Village Hall to get new AC system

The Port Jefferson Village Board, voting in a sweltering Village Hall meeting room, has unanimously approved a $99,400 plan to replace the building’s faulty air-conditioning system.

The village board met Wednesday to discuss budget issues as two fans strained to cool the second-floor meeting room, which also serves as the village’s justice court.

New Poquott Village Board to be sworn in Monday

A new Poquott Village Board majority will be sworn in Monday before the board’s annual organizational meeting.

Incoming Mayor Dolores Parrish and new trustees John Pesek and Edward Schmidt are scheduled to take the oaths of office during a 6:30 p.m. ceremony in a park outside Village Hall, 45 Birchwood Ave.
