The North Shore Historical Museum plans to rename its building after Marguerite and Joseph Suozzi in a dedication ceremony in Glen Cove on Sunday.

Four candidates are running in the Town of Hempstead's Sanitary District 2 election Thursday.

Bellport bike theft leads to a neighborly reaction

Bobby Sterling, 57, of Brookhaven, has braved rain, wind, and even snow on a bicycle for as long as he could remember. But his adventures were interrupted when his newest bike, a Specialized Hardrock Disk 29er, was stolen on July 23.

Sterling left his bicycle on his dock at Post Morrow Marina in Bellport while he unloaded the boat he had been on. When he returned, the bike was gone.

Oceanside candidate's case to be heard by judge

A judge will hear a candidate’s argument next week for an injunction against the Oceanside Sanitation District to settle the contested June election.

Tom Lanning and his Oceanside-based attorney, John Mannone, appeared in court Wednesday after filing the motion last week. The hearing was postponed until when Aug. 7 when Nassau Supreme Court Justice Arthur Diamond can hear arguments.

The owner of Blind Bat Brewery has sued a Northport property owner for $5,216 in damages after a lease agreement to move the Centerport craft brewer failed.
