WANTAGH No-cost breast cancer exam set for Thursday New York State Sen. Charles J. Fuschillo Jr. (R-Merrick), in conjunction with NuHealth/Nassau Health Care Corporation, will be sponsoring a no-cost breast cancer screening event Thursday.
The mammography van will be at the Wantagh Public Library, on 3285 Park Ave., from 8:45 a.m. to noon.

The state Department of Environmental Conservation is holding a public hearing in Stony Brook Tuesday to discuss proposed regulations that would ban or regulate nonnative invasive species in New York.
Under the proposed plan, 115 species of plants, insects, fungi and animals will be banned and another 29 would be restricted.

Two NY Rising Community Planning Committees are hosting public meetings about the state-sponsored New York Rising Community Reconstruction Program.
