I cover the Town of Huntington with my fellow reporter Deborah Morris. My goal is to keep you informed about what is going on and to respond to issues that arise. I also will be focusing on the villages of Northport and Asharoken, reporting and writing about their successes and challenges. Islip’s only microbrewery is getting a larger bar to showcase its frosty beverages.
The Islip Town planning board approved the Great South Bay Brewery’s application for a special permit to operate a larger bar inside its site at 25 Drexel Dr. in Bay Shore.
The board voted 5-1 to approve the permit at its Thursday meeting. Board member Michael Kennedy voted against the application.
