Long Island Cares launches pet food drive

Long Island Cares runs Baxter's Pet Pantry, which

Long Island Cares - The Harry Chapin Food Bank has launched a pet food drive through the region's state legislators. 

The 3rd annual Legislative Food Drive is an initiative Long Island Cares started in 2012 to restock the warehouse shelves during the winter and spring, when it said donations are typically scarce.

“America’s Got Talent” host Nick Cannon will serve as school principal for a day for one Suffolk County school that collects the most nonperishable food by April 1 for the Long Island Cares - Harry Chapin Food Bank in Hauppauge.
