South Farmingdale fire district ratings upgraded by Moody's

Moody’s Investors Service has upgraded the South Farmingdale Fire District’s general obligation bond rating from A1 to Aa3.

The action is a result of Moody’s new local government general obligation methodology and affects $3.6 million in debt.

The gold medal around 8-year-old Hiram Cowhey’s neck glistened Sunday afternoon. So did his smile as he went among the first to step off in the Farmingdale St. Patrick’s Day parade.

Academic summit today at Farmingdale State College

More than 900 students, industry leaders and educators are scheduled to attend the fourth annual STEM conference today at Farmingdale State College.

Babylon Town Tuesday is holding a public hearing on a proposed apartment complex in East Farmingdale.

Parkway Properties Inc. of Farmingdale is looking to build 48 one- and two-bedroom apartments on a 2.25-acre parcel on the southwest corner of Eastern Parkway and Denton Place. The site currently has industrial and storage buildings.
