Councilman Mark Mayoka announced at an April 28 community forum that he would be launching a new crisis mapping tool to allow community members to plot problem spots in the Huntington Station area.

The site is live, but not ready for prime-time.

Aside from the fact that the links don't work, here are two things that need to be tweaked:

1. The categories listed include riots, deaths, property loss, sexual assault, internally displaced people, government forces and civilians. Huntington Station has its problems, but the presence of government forces is unlikely.
2. The map, which is front and center on the homepage, is centered on Nairobi, Kenya.
