The Nantucket Lightship, moored for seven years in Oyster Bay Harbor looking for a permanent home, is expected to reach Boston Harbor today to become an education center and museum.

The 73-year-old lightship, which yesterday left Oyster Bay Harbor, is the largest of a class of Coast Guard lightships that served as mobile lighthouses. The vessel was decommissioned in 1975 and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1989.
