Oyster Bay lifeguard Bud Winslow, center, poses with fellow lifeguards Bob Forrest left, and Serge Nepo on the beach in Oyster Bay. Winslow spent 68 years as a lifeguard, being the town's first and creating the network of lifeguards who watch over Oyster Bay beaches. Bob and Serge are still on the job, Winslow retired after last summer. The Oyster Bay Town Board honored the town's original lifeguard on Feb. 25, 2014.
