The 23-room Victorian home of Theodore Roosevelt, is set to reopen July 13 after an extensive rehabilitation. It was the summer White House during his presidency. With furnishings unchanged since this time, it features mementos of the president's life, big-game trophies and gifts from world leaders.

The landscaped grounds can be enjoyed from one of Roosevelt's old rockers on the porch. The National Park Service administers the site and offers lectures and environmental programs. The Old Orchard Museum offers a virtual house tour and exhibits on TR and his entire life.

Hours: House, museum and visitors center hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Wed.-Sun. Grounds open daily from 9 a.m. to dusk. See website for special events.
