Long Island Rail Road service on the Ronkonkoma branch will be disrupted this weekend because of track work and maintenance of the grade crossing at Straight Path in Wyandanch, officials announced Wednesday.

Buses will replace train service from Ronkonkoma to Hicksville between 12:45 a.m. on Saturday and 12:45 a.m. on Monday, the LIRR said. All trains on the line this weekend will originate and terminate at Farmingdale.

Bethpage and Farmingdale customers will have normal train service in both directions throughout the weekend.

Customers traveling westbound from Ronkonkoma through Pinelawn will board buses to Hicksville, and transfer to trains to points west. Westbound buses, the agency said, will depart up to 44 minutes earlier than normal train time to connect with trains in Hicksville.

The 10:05 a.m., 11:05 a.m. and the 12:05 p.m. westbound trains from Ronkonkoma will originate at Farmingdale while bus service will not be provided from Ronkonkoma to Hicksville for these three trains.

Travellers heading eastbound to LIRR stations Pinelawn through Ronkonkoma will board buses at Hicksville. The LIRR advises customers to plan for up to 44 minutes of extra travel time.

The 4:32 p.m., 5:32 p.m. and 6:32 p.m. eastbound trains from Penn Station will terminate at Farmingdale and bus service will not be provided from Hicksville to Ronkonkoma for those three trains.

Weekend North Fork service east of Ronkonkoma will also be affected by the adjusted schedules.

Westbound customers from North Fork stations Greenport through Medford will board regularly scheduled trains and transfer to buses at Ronkonkoma, 21 minutes later for Hicksville, where westbound train service will resume.

Westbound North Fork customers are scheduled to arrive at LIRR western terminals one hour later than normal. Customers traveling to stations from Central Islip to Bethpage will board a local bus at Ronkonkoma to their final destinations.

Eastbound customers who take the 9:12 a.m. train from Penn Station to Ronkonkoma to connect with the train to Greenport will take a train one hour earlier than normal, departing Penn Station at 8:12 a.m. for Hicksville. Customers at Hicksville will then transfer to buses to Ronkonkoma where normal train service to Greenport will resume.

Customers at stations from Bethpage through Central Islip will board a local bus for Ronkonkoma, where normal train service to Greenport will resume.

Eastbound customers who take the 2:12 p.m. from Penn Station to Ronkonkoma to connect with the train to Greenport must take a train one hour earlier than normal, departing Penn Station at 1:12 p.m. for Hicksville. At Hicksville, customers must transfer to buses to Ronkonkoma where normal train service to Greenport will resume.

Customers at stations from Bethpage through Central Islip will board a local bus for Ronkonkoma, where normal train service to Greenport will resume.

To avoid busing, the LIRR advises that Ronkonkoma branch customers can use the Babylon, Montauk or Port Jefferson lines which will not be affected by track work.
