Long Island Rail Road trains are running on or close to schedule from Penn Station after experiencing 10- to 15-minute delays between Penn and Jamaica after a truck hit a bridge near the Forest Hills station, the LIRR said.

Due to congestion, there are still residual delays of up to 15 minutes east of Jamaica on the Hempstead, Babylon, Port Jefferson, Port Washington, Ronkonkoma, and Far Rockaway branches, the LIRR said..

Two trains on the Babylon branch were canceled -- the 5:40 p.m. from Penn Station to Seaford and the 6:05 from Penn to Wantagh, with customers directed to other trains that will make extra stops, the LIRR said.

A bridge inspector and track personnel found "no significant damage," the LIRR said.
