Trains in both directions on the Ronkonkoma, Port Jefferson and Oyster Bay branches were delayed an average of 15 to 20 minutes for a short period of time after the truck slammed into a below-grade crossing, the agency announced late Saturday morning.

Trains were operating at a reduced speed as a result of the crash east of Merillon Avenue, the LIRR said in an alert.
