An Oceanside man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on the Southern State Parkway early Sunday morning, State Police said.

The crash occurred at 3:41 a.m. on the eastbound Southern State, west of Exit 17 near West Hempstead, when a 2004 white Acura collided with a white 2006 Toyota Highlander, forcing the Acura off the highway and striking several trees and a utility pole before coming to rest, police said.

Vito Errico, 22, of Oceanside, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

His sister, Dina Errico, 23, said Vito Errico was a passenger in the Acura, along with two other passengers and the driver.

Her brother, who worked at their father’s contracting company, was a “friend to everyone,” Dina Errico said.
