Wanted: Stolen stereo; theft of cash

Crime Stoppers and the Nassau County Police Department are looking for a man suspected of stealing merchandise from a Bellmore store.

According to police, at 8 p.m. on Jan. 26, a suspect was observed inside P.C. Richard & Son at 701 Sunrise Hwy., where he took a Pioneer car stereo valued at $300 and exited the store without paying for it. He is described as being in his early 40s, about 5-foot-8 and 180 pounds, and was wearing light-colored pants and a blue hooded sweatshirt.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Fifth Precinct Crime Section are looking for a man suspected of stealing cash from a purse at a spa in Patchogue.

Police say that at 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 31, the suspect received a massage at the Sunshine Spa at 646 Route 112, and took an employee's purse. He allegedly brought the purse into the bathroom with him, stole cash, and hid it under the sink. The man, described as having a scar on the back of his head, fled the store.
