For the first time in nine years the Yankees were crowned World Champions. Their 28th title was extra special as it was their first championship at the new Yankee Stadium. Alex Rodriguez savored the moment -- the first championship in his Hall of Fame career.

The conquering heroes of the baseball world rode triumphantly through lower Manhattan Friday, as a sea of adoring fans showered them with cheers in a spectacular celebration of the Yankees' 27th world championship.
