Two men who robbed a Dutchess County beverage distributorship had their getaway curtailed by an alert sheriff's deputy on Monday, police said.
Jonathan Booth, 22, and Andrew J. Milano IV, 20, both of Millerton, were charged with second-degree robbery and fourth-degree conspiracy, felonies, and Booth was also charged with felony criminal use of a firearm, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Department said in a statement Tuesday.
A witness called the sheriff's department at 2:22 p.m. Monday about a robbery at the Crazy Beer World store at 208 Route 44 in Millerton, police said. The witness said the store was robbed by two men, one of whom displayed a handgun, and that the robbers fled west on Route 44 in a red Honda Civic.

Responding deputies secured the scene. Shortly after, Deputy Corey Ritch spotted the Honda and the two suspects traveling south on Route 22 in Amenia. With assistance from Deputy Michael Freer and Det. Kurt Twaddell, Ritch stopped the vehicle near the Food Town Plaza, police said.
An undisclosed amount of cash taken in the robbery was found, as was the handgun, and Booth and Milano were arrested, police said.
They were arraigned Monday before Amenia Town Justice Norman Moore and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond each. Their next court date is Friday in North East Town Court at 11 a.m.
Further information on their legal representation was not immediately available Tuesday.
