Motion to delay trial denied in Annabi bribery, extortion case

YONKERS - The jury selection for former Yonkers City Councilwoman Sandy Annabi's corruption trial is expected to take place tomorrow after a motion to delay the proceeding was denied.

Annabi was indicted on bribery charges stemming from the Ridge Hill development, which is now open off of the New York State Thruway.

Annabi's attorney, William Aronwald, said he was concerned that the recent conviction of ex-state Sen. Nicholas Spano on tax evasion charges may taint the jury pool due to the heavy media coverage.
