Mount Vernon motorcyclist dies in NYC crash, police say
A 53-year-old Mount Vernon man was killed when his motorcycle was hit from behind by a taxi and he was launched against a tour bus, police said Sunday.
The motorcyclist, Juan Velez of North 10th Avenue, was driving east on Lenox Avenue in Manhattan at 1:38 p.m. Saturday when the yellow cab hit him at 125th Street, New York City police said.
Police said Velez was pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital. No charges were filed against the taxi driver.
