Description:
Long Island's ultimate hangout. With the LIRR directly across the street, guests from the East End to Manhattan come here every week to meet and mingle. In addition, this venue plays host to plenty of cover bands and almost A-list music acts. Upon entering, you'll find the small front bar, which is always open, even on quieter nights. Most nights the rest of the cavernous building is available, however, featuring two room-length bars with a sizable dance space between the stage at the end. Outside, there's a courtyardlike patio for nicer nights plus a year-round smoking section. Expect a crowd that includes a little of everything (and everybody), as college-age and preppy kids mix it up with hipsters and dressy club folk (age range: 21-40). As for watching sports, you may not get a chance to hear the game on a busy night, but all games are carried and shown on the 30 (some projection screen-size) TVs.
Hours: 4:30 p.m.-3 a.m. Mon., Wed.-Thurs., 11:30 a.m.-3 a.m. Friday, 7 p.m.-3 a.m. Saturday (closed on Sundays and Tuesdays).
