You have to wonder what it’s like to be on Garden City – to coast for an entire season, nearly untouchable, and then hit CareyIt’s like when Superman touches kryptonite for the first time and finds out what it means to be really mortal. That’s what happened on Nov. 14, when they let up more than three points for the first time all season, eventually winning by the thinnest of margins (for them, at least): 21-19. And then there’s Wantagh. Yes, they won, and yes, they shut them out, but it was again, an atypically weak offensive performance by the Trojans, who scored the fewest points they have all year in the 14-0 victory. This, after they defeated Wantagh earlier in the season, 34-0.We all know Garden City is good – great even. Stephen Jahelka owns property on the Newsday headline space and Brian Fischer is so good, we triple-check the spelling of his name Every. Single. Time. But there is a kink in the Trojan armor, and you have to wonder if North Babylon will be the one to land the deciding blow. The guys you want to watch on North Bab are Preshod McCoy and Ryan Crawly – who continue to be a consistent and reassuring presence at running back and fullback. They play a very physical, run-oriented game and it’s going to be amazing to see how they stack up against a team that has allowed 22 points all season. The money’s on the Bulldogs on this one, but let’s see…Laura Albanese here to take you through it (again)…
