'N SYNC reunites at Barclays Center for the MTV Video Music Awards

BROOKLYN - History was made at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for the 30th annual MTV Video Music Awards Sunday as Justin Timberlake reunited with his former bandmates from N SYNC.

Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Kanye West, Drake, Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga were among the many performances. Lady Gaga, known for her elaborate performances, made her first award show appearance since canceling her tour earlier in the year due to hip surgery. She opened the show, while Perry closed out the show near the Brooklyn Bridge. Both ladies performed their new singles. They both have albums coming out later this year.

Late Night host Jimmy Fallon presented the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award to Timberlake. In addition, Timberlake performed a medley of all his hits for 15 minutes before accepting the award. N SYNC joined him in the middle to perform Girlfriend and Bye Bye Bye.

Though they didn't perform, winners Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez made appearances. A few who also made appearances were Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kevin Hart and Jared Leto.

Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead the nominations with six each. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis won several, including Best Hip-Hip. Bruno Mars won the Best Male Video award, while Taylor Swift picked up her moon man for Best Female Video. One Direction won the viewers choice for Best Song of the Summer. While the Video of the Year Award honors went to Justin Timberlake for Mirrors.
