New Canaan PD warns against jury duty phone scam

Police say a male caller, identifying himself as a New Canaan police officer, has been contacting people and fraudulently telling them that they failed to report for jury duty resulting in a fine of $2,000.

NEW CANAAN - Officials say New Canaan residents should expect to get a reverse 911 call today warning against a phone-fraud scheme.

Police say a male caller, identifying himself as a New Canaan police officer, has been contacting people and fraudulently telling them that they failed to report for jury duty resulting in a fine of $2,000.

Authorities say the call is a scam and to contact the New Canaan police if one is received.
