NEW CANAAN - New Canaan police are investigating yet another case of possible animal cruelty.

Authorities say someone reported finding the body of a chipmunk in a plastic shopping bag on a driveway on Silvermine Road. They say the chipmunk had not been decapitated.

Detectives say the severed heads of a cat and two birds have recently been found on people's property, and that a high school student found a dead bird in the back of her car.

Police say they're unsure if the incidents are related.
