Shooting at Newburgh deli
A man was hospitalized Tuesday night after he was shot several times at a Newburgh bodega, the Newburgh Police Department said.
Cops were called to Alharhis Deli Grocery a few minutes before 7 p.m. after receiving 911 calls about gunfire in the area. They found the victim, whose name was not disclosed by police, and sent him by ambulance to St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, about six blocks -- less than a mile -- away.
The man's injuries weren't considered life-threatening.

"The victim's all right," a police source said.
Detectives remained at the scene late Tuesday night and were trying to piece together the circumstances of the shooting. No arrest had been made as of 9 p.m., and it wasn't immediately clear what prompted the gunfire.
Police said they did not know for sure whether the victim was shot inside the bodega or outside. A phone number for the bodega was connected to an unrelated corporate phone system.
A section of Liberty Street between South and Third streets remained closed Tuesday night during the investigation.
