Book Nook. 'The 3-1-2-1 Diet' review
THE 3-1-2-1 DIET: Eat and Cheat Your Way to Weight Loss -- Up to 10 Pounds in 21 Days, by Dolvett Quince. Grand Central Life & Style, 291 pp., $26.
If you're a fan of "The Biggest Loser," you'll certainly know the fit and trim celeb trainer Dolvett Quince. And he promises you'll lose weight -- while you cheat.
He's all about no deprivation. "On this diet, you can have anything your heart desires, 2 days a week, as long as moderation and portion control are your MOs," he writes, adding that his diet works "by manipulating your body's natural tendency to slow its metabolic rate in response to severe calorie restriction." So you'll eat "clean" for three days (salmon, turkey breast), "cheat" for one (beef, one pizza slice), eat clean for two again -- and cheat for one. (But let's not go crazy: A "cheat" is a small steak or pancakes with sugar-free syrup.)
THE SCOOP The book includes meal plans, recipes and calisthenics, ably demonstrated by Quince.
THE BOTTOM LINE Catch him a 7 p.m. tomorrow at Barnes & Noble in Fresh Meadows.
