At last night’s Nassau Democratic dinner, party vice chairman Tom Garry did a bit of inside humor from the dais — joking that Josh Lafazan, the high school senior elected in May to the Syosset School Board, was ready to announce his run for state comptroller.

That of course is an indirect reference to the current state comptroller, Tom DiNapoli, who in 1972, at age 18, was elected to the Mineola Board of Education, thus prompting many a Lafazan comparison.
