The "American Idol" final that's been expected for weeks finally took shape Wednesday as Syesha Mercado was cast aside after 56 million votes, setting up a battle between Goliaths David Archuleta and David Cook.
"I don't know what to say," she said to her supporters. "Thank you."
Mercado was poised as she sang her last song, Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You"--a dry-eyed ending to a show that featured lots of crying as the Top 3 visited their hometowns.
