Patricia Kitchen
Bio
Patricia Kitchen writes about career/workplace issues for Newsday. Before that she was a senior editor with the former McCall’s magazine and a features editor and career columnist with the American Banker newspaper.
A career changer herself, she spent several years teaching middle school English and is now an adjunct instructor at New York University. One of her favorite work-related activities is doing “resume medic” duty at Newsday’s annual job fair for young journalists.
Active in the Newswomen’s Club of New York, she serves as that group’s strategic planning chair.
Among her personal workplace challenges: learning new Web skills and developing the willingness to fill in expense reports.
