The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene

Opening tonight: Huntington Social

Huntington Social is slated to open at 5 tonight.

The new gastropub-cocktail lounge takes the comfort-food route, fueled by beverages that range from the Sazerac to Bourbon Punch.

Huntington Social's chef is hometown-guy Christopher Lee, a veteran of Aureole and Gilt in Manhattan as well as Eden in Florida's South Beach. Dishes on the seasonal menus may include: wild striped bass with artichoke ravioli and tomato-caper sauce; meatballs with creamy polenta; and the "Elvis sundae," which, of course, has chunky peanut butter ice cream and bananas. And there's always the "Social burger."

Dinner will be served Tuesday to Thursday until 10:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday until 11 p.m., and Sunday until 9 p.m. The bar serves until 2 a.m. Live music and DJs on weekends. Closed Monday.

Huntington Social, 330 New York Ave., Huntington; 631-923-2442.

The Sazerac cocktail, evoking New Orleans, will be served at Huntington Social.
