Breast Cancer Awareness: Shop for a cure
Every October, fashion and beauty brands work with charities to look at the fight against breast cancer through rose-colored glasses by putting out a load of (mostly pink) products that benefit research and awareness.
“Fashion is the perfect outlet because it takes breast cancer awareness directly to women,” says E! News anchor and “Fashion Police” co-host Giuliana Rancic, who was diagnosed last year at the age of 37. “Women love to shop and use beauty products, so if they happen to see products out in the mall or in their local drugstore that are working in conjunction to breast cancer research, it might make them stop and think, 'Oh I need to get checked!' or 'When was my last mammogram?'"
This month only, you can shop for anything from limited-edition beauty products by Avon and Estee Lauder to clothing and accessories by Ralph Lauren and Tory Burch, while helping to find a cure. -- By Nina Ruggiero
