Bariatric surgery shown to reduce cancer in women
LONDON -- Women who have their stomachs stapled not onlylose weight, they also may reduce their cancer risk by up to 40percent, new research says.
In a study of more than 2,000 fat people who had surgery toreduce the size of their stomachs, Swedish researchers found womenwho had the procedure were less likely to get cancer than those whodid not.
