'Idol' Psychics: Mama Sox vs. the paint seller

You didn't need tea leaves to predict a Crystal Bowersox-Lee DeWyze showdown on Tuesday's "American Idol." Sadly, it caps a season that's had less color than Simon Cowell's T-shirts. Which one will take the "Idol" crown?

THE WINNER Lee DeWyze

While neither Lee nor Crystal has the wow factor of a David Cook or a Kelly Clarkson, the paint store salesman has brought more color to his performances ("Treat Her Like a Lady" and "Simple Man" being his masterworks). And Lee probably will be better able to handle the sugar quotient of the coronation song, which is certain to conjure images of rainbows, mountains, miracles, heaven and maybe even unicorns.

THE WINNER

Crystal Bowersox

Although she seemed like the sure winner from Day 1, the path to the finale has had the occasional pothole, including some performances that did not meet expectations. This week it'll be an uphill battle for Mama Sox with the judges' premature crowning of Lee last week. The Powers That Be may have gone all out to assure Lee's win with the overdone lighting and staging of "Hallelujah," but in the end, we predict Crystal's pure talent will outshine Lee's pitchy vocals and bagpiper-cum-"Hallelujah" chorus theatricality. You'd think Simon Cowell would approve of that.
