Jon Padilla scored off a scramble in front of the net with seven seconds left to lead No. 6 Glen Cove past No. 11 Plainedge, 1-0, yesterday in a Nassau Class A first-round soccer game.

Padilla's scoring opportunity came courtesy of a Ronal Monge corner kick into a crowd in front of the net. Goalkeeper Angad Sodhi made six saves for Glen Cove (7-3-3), which will play at No. 3 Island Trees in a quarterfinal on Wednesday.

Huntington 1 , East Islip 1: Sophomore Scott Gulizio converted the winning penalty kick in the seventh round to lift No. 17 Huntington (7-8-2) past No. 16 East Islip, 4-3, in penalty kicks in a Suffolk AA outbracket game. East Islip scored with 1:20 left in regulation to tie the score at 1. Huntington goalkeeper Ari Moskowitz made a diving save during the penalty kick sesson. Huntington will play at No. 1 Brentwood in a first-round on Tuesday at 2:30 pm. Hauppauge 2, Kings Park 0: Corey Remindino scored two goals for No. 15 Hauppauge (9-6-1) against No. 18 Kings Park in a Suffolk Class AA outbracket game.
